It’s currently the peak of the summer (or of the winter, depending on where you are in the world!), and we figure that a lot of people are spending quite a bit of time indoors. Some of us may have broken out the board games to enjoy a few rounds with our friends. Now, speaking of board games – how many of you are familiar with mahjong?
Mahjong is a 4-player game featuring 34 types of tiles that was developed in China in the 19th century and later on spread around the world. In it, players take turns picking and discarding tiles in order to complete specific combinations. For this event, Decor Pikmin will be donning “honor” tiles representing dragons and winds, as well as numbered tiles from the game’s three suits: bamboo, marbles, and characters. When combined, these can form high-scoring hands such as “Thirteen Orphans” or “Mixed Terminals” among many others.

Mahjong Decor Pikmin come in a total of 14 different types. The first 7 will appear starting on August 14th, during the first part of the event, and the remaining 7 will join during the second part of the event, starting on August 26th. Get on the challenge to meet them all!

◆Complete Event Challenge missions to obtain gold seedlings for Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin
For every Event Challenge mission that you clear, you’ll be able to obtain rewards at random. These can be nectar, gold seedlings, or other items. Additionally, when the Big Flower at the center of the stage blooms, you’re guaranteed to receive an extra gold seedling.
※Please note that seasonal flowers featured in the Event Challenge missions until August 31st 23:59 will be sunflowers and hibiscus, and they will switch to spider lilies and the seasonal flower for September starting on September 1st at 0:00 local time. The switch will not affect ongoing missions and will be reflected once you move on the next mission.
※Sunflower and hibiscus petals will continue to be available in the shop until September 10th.
Gold Seedlings obtained through the Event Challenge will grow into either Red, Yellow, Blue, Purple, White, Winged or Rock Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin. Please note you’ll meet them at random and are not guaranteed to complete the whole set.

◆The Premium Event Pass is back for users at Level 50 and above!
When you purchase a Premium Event Pass, you’ll be able to enjoy the following perks for the duration of the event (August 14th through September 10th):
For every stage cleared, you’ll receive extra seasonal nectar that you can put to good use in order to clear event-related tasks!
When you clear the 4th stage, you will receive an additional gold seedling in the color of your choice: Red, Yellow, Blue, Purple, White, Pink or Gray. This applies to the 4th stage and any subsequent stages that are a multiple of 4 (8th, 12th, 16th, etc). On top of that, this time around, you’ll also be able to choose your desired Mahjong Tile out of the 14 available.
※The additional nectar you receive through the Premium Event Pass will be a different type than the one that you can receive as a reward when you play without purchasing the pass.
※The seedling that you receive at the 4th stage and subsequent stages that are a multiple of 4 is guaranteed to grow into the color Pikmin and Mahjong Tile of your choice.
※Premium Event Pass perks apply to the ongoing event after purchase only. Please note that you won’t be able to enjoy retroactive rewards for stages that you have already cleared before purchasing the pass.
※The Premium Event Pass does not appear in the shop to users at level 49 or below.
◆During the event, Mahjong Decor Pikmin will be especially strong against mushrooms!
Mahjong Decor Pikmin will enjoy increased strength against mushrooms from August 14th through September 10th. After the event, they will have the same strength levels as other Decor Pikmin.
◆The Shop will be offering limited-time bundles with goodies to help you tackle event missions!
◆Event Second Part: starts August 26th at 0:00 local time!
Mystery Mushrooms will begin to sprout at this time! When you destroy these mushrooms, you will receive a Mystery Box containing seasonal nectar or petals, as well as seedlings and other items at random. Battle mushrooms daily to collect as many Mystery Boxes as possible and enjoy some special items!
※Mystery Mushrooms come in regular size only.
Mystery Mushrooms are a special type of mushroom that will grow only during the event. Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin will be especially strong against this type of mushroom! If you find any Mystery Mushroom, be sure to send your Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin to clear the way!
※After the event, Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin strength against Mystery Mushrooms, shall they ever appear again, will be the same as that of other Decor Pikmin.
Gold seedlings obtained through Mystery Boxes will grow into Red, Yellow, Blue, Purple, White, Winged or Rock Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin. Please see below for the specific tiles that apply. Please note that you’re not guaranteed to complete the whole set.
◆Get your hands on event exclusive Mahjong Mii T-shirts by clearing Mushroom Missions
On August 26, 2023, you will receive 3 Mushroom Missions. These are separate from the main Event Challenge Missions, and can be completed at the same time. For each mission cleared, you’ll receive an exclusive Mahjong inspired Mii T-shirt! The missions are as follows:
*There are 3 different Mahjong Mii T-shirts in total.
◆Keep your eyes peeled for the release of Special Mission Tickets in the shop on September 4th！
You can obtain these Special Mission Tickets in exchange for coins. Completing the mission gets you a gold seedling for the relevant Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin.
*Special Mission Tickets will be available in the shop in exchange for coins from September 4th 0:00 local time through September 12th 23:59 local time.
*Missions obtained from Special Mission Tickets must be completed by October 31st 23:59 local time.
*When you clear each mission you will be able to choose the color of the gold seedling (Red, Yellow, Blue, Purple, White, Pink or Gray) as well as the Mahjong Tile for your Decor Pikmin.
*If you purchase more than one Special Mission Ticket, you’ll be able to work on all the missions at the same time.
◆Gold Seedlings obtained from inviting friends and family to play Pikmin Bloom between August 14th and September 10th will grow into Red, Yellow, Blue, Purple, White, Winged or Rock Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin. (The tile will be assigned at random)
*In order for the Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin to display correctly, please use app version v75 or later.
