(Correction on April 24, 2024): It was stated that Milestone rewards was a “Huge Seedling”, but the correct term is “Gold Seedling”.
Established on April 22nd, 1970, Earth Day marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement. To this day, Earth Day continues to be a great reminder to raise awareness of the need to protect the Earth’s natural resources for future generations. On Pikmin Bloom, we’re holding a nature-themed event to inspire all of us to leave this Earth a better place than we found it!
Date & Time
April 22nd 0:00 to 30th 23:59 local time
Event Details
Let’s fill the world with flowers!
During the event, we’ll give away Huge Seedlings for nature-themed Decor Pikmin based on the amount of flowers planted by our global community! Huge Seedlings will be awarded to all users when we collectively hit the milestones below. Do follow us on our socials (@PikminBloom) to stay updated on progress!
At the end of the event, we’ll announce the total amount of flowers planted globally! You can contribute with something as simple as perhaps taking the longer route on occasion to plant a few extra flowers.
Milestone rewards
Each Huge Seedling awarded during the Earth Day event features a Decor Pikmin wearing something related to the earth and nature. Let’s take this as an opportunity to think about our environment!
3 billion flowers planted: Huge Seedling for Acorn Decor Pikmin
Acorns are the fruit of broadleaf trees such as oaks. We generally associate them with the fall, and perhaps enjoyed picking them up while playing in the park as kids. However, there’s more than meets the eye! Acorns are also a very important food for wildlife. In recent years, hardwoods are often being replaced by conifers such as cedar and cypress, which are easier to use as building materials, and their numbers are declining. This is one reason why it’s becoming harder for wildlife to live in some areas and animals are increasingly coming down to human settlements.
6 billion flowers planted: Huge Seedling for Shell Decor Pikmin
Whenever we go to the ocean, we are sure to find some shells. Shells are made of calcium carbonate, the same ingredient found in eggshells and chalk. This ingredient is easily soluble in vinegar and other highly acidic substances. Have you ever stopped to wonder what will happen to the shells if carbon dioxide, which is said to be the cause of global warming, increases in the ocean and the ocean becomes more acidic?
10 billion flowers planted: Huge Seedling for Present Sticker (Gold) Decor Pikmin (White Pikmin)
This Present Sticker Decor Pikmin is our way to commemorate the Earth Day Event! Achieving this huge milestone is something only possible if we all come together and each and every one of us contributes, no matter how little! We hope that, during this event, many of our users will make the conscious choice to walk instead of driving when possible, with the aim of being just a little kinder to this planet we live on.
*There are no specific requirements for which flowers to plant. All types of flowers count towards the goal.
*Seedlings will be awarded to all users the day after each milestone has been reached. This is based on Japan Standard Time, you may receive the seedling at a different time of day depending on your location.
*Awarded Seedlings must be received by May 6th, 2024. Please launch the app before then in order to receive the Seedlings.
*With the exception of the Present Sticker (Gold) Decor Pikmin, the color of the Pikmin you receive will be randomized.
As always, don’t forget to take AR photos of your Pikmin with real world flowers while you’re out and about! We’ll be looking forward to you all sharing your adventures on #EarthDay_PB – let’s turn social media into a blooming field of flowers too!
*In order for the Spring Sticker Decor Pikmin to display correctly, please use app version v92 or later.
