Who here doesn’t love a good taco? A staple of Mexican cuisine, a taco usually consists of a small hand-sized corn- or wheat-based tortilla topped with a filling.

In Mexico, fillings can be vastly different from region to region, with each area having their own unique flavors and ingredients. For example, “Tacos al pastor” are filled with pork, pineapple, and other ingredients that are grilled while being rotated like a kebab. Is your mouth watering yet? If you’re more of a beef person, then there’s “Tacos de carne asada”, which contain ingredients such as char-grilled beef, onions, and cilantro. These are, however, a mere two examples out of a myriad of different ways to prepare tacos!

Because of this wide variety and the ease with which they can be eaten with one hand, tacos have expanded well beyond Mexico, and are now loved around the world. When eating tacos, do be curious about their different ingredients – no two tacos are ever the same!
